After the 1930′s, the USA team returned to the Soccer Worldcup stage in 1950, but was unable to get past the first round. Their next Soccer Worldcup appearance was in 1990, 40 years later and have been consistent ever since, with South Africa Worldcup 2010 marking their sixth successive attendance.
The USA were hosts to the 1994 Soccer Worldcup showcase, and whilst they improved upon their previous results, they were unable to progress past the second round. Under the watchful management of coach Bob Bradley, the Americans never displayed anxiety during their world soccer qualifying games. With a respectable result at FIFA Confederations Cup South Africa 2009, the USA soccer team has hopes of continuing this level of performance at the South Africa Worldcup 2010, at least making it to the quarter finals.

USA Soccer Leadership
Bob Bradley was born in Montclair, United States on March 3, 1958. After great success coaching at college level, Bradley went on to try MLS, again with success. Initially appointed as an assistant national coach, he quickly proved himself and soon became the permanent USA soccer coach. Under Bradley’s leadership the USA soccer team has some major highlights worthy of note: champions of the 2007 Gold Cup and reaching the final at the 2009 Confederations Cup in South Africa.
